We are purposely nimble, allowing a group of brilliant dedicated minds to come together and work anywhere, providing a balance of rewarding work and a fulfilling life.
Our team of monkeys have provided innovative, creative, and cost-effective digital content for corporate and non-profit clients since 2012.
Behind the name
Jim’s first successful script included a homage to the “Flying Monkeys” scene in the “Wizard of Oz” which catapulted his career in television and media.
To him, the name represents a lean (not mean) fast, streamlined approach to digital content production.
Jim Gaffey
New York
Our founding flying monkey, Jim Gaffey, has more than 25 years of experience as a writer, producer, and showrunner in cable and broadcast network television. Jim has overseen production of series for History Channel, National Geographic as well as NBC/Universal’s NBCLearn digital platform, and consulted for leading news channels in India and Hong Kong. He started as a news writer for CBS News, the Today Show, Good Morning America, and later co-created the Fox Report on Fox News Channel.
Michael Schuetz
Munich, Germany
Our newest flying monkey, Michael Schuetz is our Munich-based Creative Director and Content Lead for Europe and Asia. An award-winning communications expert and storyteller, he has more than 20 years of experience in creating digital content and driving strategic communications projects for global brands.
As head of content at Bavaria Film Group, one of Europe’s largest production companies, he oversaw innovative virtual events and was responsible for global video production for customers like SAP, Celonis, Ferrero, and Porsche Consulting. Before joining Bavaria Film, Michael worked as a TV producer and writer for news channels N24 and ARD.
Paige Sommer
New York
Coordinating Producer, Paige Sommer, is the great and powerful wizard who keeps the monkeys’ projects on time and on budget. With the ability to shoot, produce, and edit, she is an asset to our team.
A former resident UN correspondent and producer for the Al Arabiya news channel, she also has experience on branded video content for Colgate, Reebok, and Converse, and produced videos for the National Academy of Sciences.
Paige is an avid film photographer, shooting original content on her 35mm. Catch her behind the scenes!
